This theatre is committed to providing healthy and safe facilities for audiences, performers, and staff. Based on CDC and state guidelines at the time of performance, protocols may include mask enforcement, increased cleaning and ventilation/filtration enhancements, vaccination or negative test verification, and more. About the Venue
The Ambassador Theatre was opened in 1921 by the Shuberts. It was designed by Herbert J. Krapp and is uniquely designed diagonally to fit a maximum number of patrons.
The Shuberts sold the theater in 1935, after which it was used as a movie theater and a TV studio for 20 years. In 1956 the Shuberts bought the theater back, and it has since remained a legitimate theater under the organization's ownership.
Concessions
Drinks, candy, and snacks are sold at the theater bar. Only bottled water is allowed at your seat.
Know Before You Go
Entrance
Two steps into the theater from main entrance. Side entrance has no steps. Seating is accessible to the Orchestra without steps.
Water Fountain
A water fountain is available in the ticket lobby and another on the mezzanine level.
Hearing Assistance
Assisted Listening Devices are. Drivers License/ID with address required as a deposit to reserve. For reservations, call 212.582.7678.
Elevators and Escalators
This theater does not have elevators or escalators.
Wheelchair Access
Wheelchair seating is only located in the Orchestra.
Restrooms
There is a wheelchair accessible restroom.
